Pennsylvania’s Promise for Children is collecting stories from families and Early Childhood Education (ECE) professionals to feature during Month of the Young Child in April.

The funding will be issued beginning April 20, 2021 and will be divided to support child care providers through multiple channels.

CCW reimbursements will be increased to the 40th percentile of the market rate for child care in the provider’s region, up from approximately the 25th percentile where most of Pennsylvania’s child care providers currently sit.

In March, the ELRC Region 5 will kick off Ask the Coaches, a monthly one-hour discussion for child care owners, directors, and teaching staff. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions, network with peers, and learn about resources that support all things Keystone STARS.

In summer 2021, the Neighborhood Learning Alliance will be sponsoring approximately 160 Pittsburgh high school students for the Summer High School U college program.

Early childhood educators can support children’s overall wellness by using classroom time to spread the word that healthy oral habits are an important part of keeping bodies healthy. There are plenty of resources available for families and educators.
