Kindergarten registration has opened in Allegheny, Armstrong, Butler, Fayette, Greene, and Westmoreland Counties for the 2021-2022 school year.

Additional funds are available to support approximately 100 more scholarships for staff employed in STAR 1 and STAR 2 programs.

All staff in certified child care programs must have preservice or orientation training (to be completed within three months) and an annual minimum of 12 hours in health and safety professional development.

There is a new certification requirement for child care providers to develop a policy and procedure to identify the prevention of shaken baby syndrome, abusive head trauma, and child maltreatment.
