Trying Together and ELRC Region 5 are offering a variety of professional development opportunities for early childhood educators in August and September as the 2025-26 school year begins.

Trying Together and Early Learning Resource Center (ELRC) 5’s Rapid Response Team provides hands-on coaching for educators and resources for families and caregivers to prevent the expulsion or suspension of children in early childhood education.

April has been designated as the Month of the Young Child. Trying Together has planned a month full of events and opportunities to tout the importance of early child care and celebrate organizations that provide vital services.

The state’s Department of Human Services has renewed its five-year contract with Allegheny County to operate the Early Learning Resource Center (ELRC).

Trying Together was one of 18 early childhood organizations to receive state mini-grants for $200,000 in November.

The Early Learning Resource Center (ELRC) Region 5 is asking Allegheny County families and child care providers to complete a brief survey on evening phone hour offerings.

The Allegheny County Family Resource Map provides caregivers of young children and other residents in Allegheny County the opportunity to locate available supports closest to them.

Child care operators will have the opportunity to pick up several cases of Lysol wipes at distribution sites.
