Measles is a very contagious virus that spreads through the air when an infected person coughs or sneezes. Cases have been reported in Pennsylvania, so child care operators should remain alert.

The federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has provided national information on measles cases.
The state DOH suggests that caregivers get children vaccinated for measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) or measles mumps, rubella, and varicella (chickenpox) (MMRV).
