The summit’s aim is to facilitate peer-to-peer learning and networking among child nutrition program (CNP) operators, establish connections between CNP operators and producers, showcase farm-to-child nutrition “best practices,” and deliver educational opportunities involving the environmental, economic, nutritional, and equitable value of growing foods.

The event is designed for audiences of CNP operators, K-12 and early childhood educators, producers, distributors, and other farm-to-school and early childhood education stakeholder groups. Its theme is Rooted in Resilience: Sustaining and Celebrating Collaborations.

The summit is coordinated by the state’s Department of Education, Bureau of Food and Nutrition, and Penn State University’s Project PA with the support of the Pennsylvania Farm to School Network. Funding is provided by a USDA Farm to School Formula grant.

The event will be held on June 17 at Bartram’s Garden in Philadelphia. Registration is free and on a first-come, first-served basis. The registration deadline is Monday, June 1 or until capacity is reached. For more information and to register, visit the Project PA website.
