Those whose total household income in 2025 was up to $70,000, or up to $50,000 if filing as an individual, will qualify for free tax preparation.
The services will be offered on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at 413 Penn Avenue in Turtle Creek.
The center will operate by appointments only. Those interested should schedule an appointment by calling 211 on weekdays between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m. or sign up online.
Documents needed for tax preparation include:
A photo ID (and for your spouse, if filing jointly)
Social security card or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) for yourself, your spouse, and each person to be claimed on your return
Birthdates for everyone on the return
W-2 forms for all jobs held in 2025; also bring a final paystub if you received tips and/or overtime you want to deduct on your return
All 1099 forms, including income received from unemployment, self-employment, social security, pension and retirement, bank account interest, dividends, and stocks
Record of tuition payments, student loan interest paid, plus receipts for postsecondary materials and books
If you paid for childcare - total expenses and name, address, and tax ID number of providers
Mortgage interest statement and property tax receipts, if you own a home
Form 1095-A, B, or C with health insurance information, if you received one
Local tax forms or any tax booklets you’ve received in the mail
Anything that says “This is important for your taxes”
A copy of last year’s tax return (not required, but helpful)
If you’re married filing jointly, your spouse must attend the appointment to also sign the tax returns.
Your bank account number and routing number for direct deposit; the IRS is phasing out paper checks, so you must bring account information to receive your refund in a timely manner.
