"Healing the Legacy: Fathers of Color and Intergenerational Trauma," the second of a three-part series, will take place on May 23. It will examine how historical and familial experiences shape parenting styles and family dynamics.

Presenters will explore ways to nurture connection within homes, celebrate cultural heritages, and foster individual, family, and intergenerational collective healing.

Attendees will:

  • Learn best practices in creating a trauma-informed, nonviolent, and culturally sustaining approach to fatherhood

  • Gain insights into how fatherhood can positively impact a man's health and wellbeing

  • Learn best practices in connecting fathers to community supports

Speakers during the webinar include:

  • Fernando Deveras, Director of Community Engagement for Latinx Parenting

  • Dr. Clinton Boyd, Jr., Researcher for Chapin Hall at the University of Chicago

  • David H. Velazquez, Parent and Family Engagement Fellow at Pritzker Children's Initiative
